Mark Spain is a UK contemporary artist, based in Kent. He started his art career working with etchings and calligraphy, but branched out into oil painting around the year 2000. Mark is renowned for his figurative oil paintings, especially his paintings of the female form, usually in stunning, flowing dresses. Often his women are dancing, or lost in their own world. Mark likes to experiment and take risks with his painting style. He plays with texture and colour, switching between bright sunshine and fading dusky imagery at a stroke. His paintings are instantly recognisable, classic with a contemporary twist. Mark Spain’s figurative work has been exhibited at Harrods in London and Artexpo in New York. His art hangs in galleries from London to Japan, New Zealand and Canada. At The Rose Gallery, we’re thrilled to offer Mark’s latest collection of limited edition prints. Each print is limited to an extremely small release quantity.
