Rudy Morandini

French Sculptor Rudy Morandini specialises in ironmongery to create his original sculptures, by soldering together stainless steel to create sophisticated depictions of the female form. As a child, Rudy Morandini was captivated by the ancient sculptures he encountered during a museum visit. He went on to study medicine in Strasbourg and osteopathy in Lyon, gaining a deep understanding of human anatomy. This was further enriched by extensive training in life drawing.

For Morandini, the human body represents an endless realm of exploration. Rather than simply replicating anatomical form, he aims to convey emotions like shyness, joy, self-assurance, seduction, and doubt through posture and gesture. Morandini's choice of using nuts is symbolic on multiple levels. Not only does it evoke the cellular structure of the human body, but from a technical perspective, it meets the artist's demands remarkably well: it can endure temperatures over 1,000 degrees, is stable, and allows light to pass through.

Rudy Morandini has showcased his thought-provoking work in galleries across Belgium, England, and Italy. He was also honoured as a guest of honour at the Bresse Sculpture Festival in both 2019 and 2022.
