Dave Buonaguidi, AKA The Real Hackney Dave, born and raised in London he uses his successful experience from the world of advertising, and inspiration for pop art and the stuff of life, politics media and universal emotions with the aim to be democratic and accessible to all, artwork which can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. This is how The Real Hackney Dave creates playful and interesting statement artworks, with the use of text being a prominent aspect of the artworks to intentionally create and forge a connection between the artwork and viewer by presenting uplifting and engaging phrases.

Working with found materials and images and experimenting with screen printing techniques by hand, allows him to create individual artworks which are unique to themselves and which hold their own story. He overlays these traditional materials such as maps with a variety of media, such as glitter, sprinkles and gold leaf, creating a powerful juxtaposition between these traditional and contemporary elements of his artwork. The positive impact of his work has transcended the art world and is involved in a range of charities, using his artworks to raise funds for the NHS and the people of Ukraine as well as working with charities close to home in London such as Tottenham Food Bank.
